Museum of Aviation: Warner Robins, GA

Last Wednesday we went to the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Ga. Once again, it was a free exhibit. I wouldn't have minded paying a little bit for it though. It was interesting.

I am not really a history museum type of person but it was better than I thought it would be. It was interesting to look at all the artifacts and planes from different wars. There were A LOT of planes...yes go ahead and laugh...I really didn't think there would be so MANY! It would definitely be a great place for kids who are fascinated with planes. I would also recommend it for anyone interested in WWII, the Korean War, or Vietnam War. Here are just a few pictures my husband and I took (we argued over the camera a bit that day because we both wanted to use it).

Ocmulgee National Monument

We decided to go to the Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon, GA on our way to Warner Robins, GA. It was a pleasant surprise. We had fun taking a lot of pictures (all of the ones posted are from the good camera). It was in the 40's so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I would have liked because I felt like my fingers were going to fall off!

Inside the mound. We could only look through a glass but it was still interesting. The floor of the mound is the original! Amazing!
These holes were in the ground inside the mound. They weren't sure what they were used for.

It was a nice trip. We took a lot of nice pictures (considering how cold and windy it was). For a free trip it was worth the time we took out of our day. It would be nice to go again when it isn't so cold and when part of the area isn't flooded (see the picture directly above).

We are heading to Warner Robins tomorrow to visit some friends from college. I searched for places to visit using the AAA TripTik site...I didn't find much. We will be visiting the Ocmulgee National Monument along the way. Once we get there we will also be going to the Museum of Aviation. I will post pictures within the week.
